Rachel Chapman – Sports TherapistH i, my name is Rachel. I am from Middlesbrough and have lived here all my life. I graduated from Teesside University with a degree in Sports Therapy and I am a member of the Society of Sports Therapists.
I have always had a keen interest in sport and injuries and love being able to help people return from injury back to their chosen activities using a variety of different techniques including massage, mobilisations, muscle activations, and rehabilitation exercises.
I am also a Certified APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute) Pilates Matwork Instructor. I have since completed Pilates for Horse Riders and also Reformer on the mat based pilates training. I have completed a number of other courses since completing my degree including Kinesio taping and Be Activated by Douglas Heel.
I work for Darlington Mowden Park Rugby club where I carry out assessments, treatments, and rehabilitation programmes with the players and I provide pitch-side first aid on match days. My favourite part of working with the rugby team is seeing the players returning back to the field following an injury. I have also worked with Newcastle Falcons doing post-training massage sessions with the players.
I like to live an active life by regularly going to the gym, horse riding, and doing Pilates.
